My menu for the week is looking pretty Asian...shocking. If you have access to some really nice tuna, this one is a winner
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 cloves crushed garlic
1 heaping T. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. wasabi paste
2 6oz tuna steaks
panko crumbs
veggie oil for saute
Combine soy, garlic, sugar and wasabi paste and whisk it to incorporate. Marinate the tuna at least overnight in this mixture. When ready, heat enough veggie oil to cover the bottom of a saute pan. Lightly coat the tuna in panko crumbs and sear in the oil for 2 minutes on each side. This will leave them rare in the middle. If that isn't your thing, heat the oven to 400 and place the tuna steaks in there after searing for 5 minutes.
Sides: Seaweed salad would be a great side for this. If that isn't your thing, check out the next recipe.
